Hotel Description
The views from this fine gabled house in one of Cape Town's most exclusive residential areas towards Table Mountain are positively breathtaking - though you may want to simply admire them rather than hike to the top (the cable car is an easier option). At The Bishop's Court there are mountain views from every one of its four distinctively furnished bedrooms. Choose from the private balcony of The Bishop's Suite, with its outdoor courtyard complete with Jacuzzi; the Oak Room (whose exquisite bathroom allows you to enjoy 'a soak with a view'); the Willow Room whose bedroom doors open onto the pool; or the Wild Olive Room with its private patio leading into the flourishing gardens. Surrounded by lawns and with floodlit courts just down from the pool for a spot of tennis in the evening cool, the Bishop's Court gives you the feel of country living while you soak up the Cape's famous year round sunshine. Yet the restaurants of Cape Town are just a short drive away; the buzzy beachfront atmosphere of Camps Bay is within easy reach; and the vineyards of Constantia are nearby. For those who are fascinated by the area's unique and astounding flora the Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens are within walking distance. The villa manager, whose aim is to make this a luxurious home from home where you can relax and unwind, is on hand to make sure all your trips out and about are easily organised, whether your desire is restaurant reservations, theatre bookings or fishing (and even whale watching) trips. Back home, you may find yourself happy just to sip a cup of tea or one of the delicious white wines of the Cape on the lawn whilst you contemplate the delights of a South African supper specially cooked for you - choose from smoked fillet of kudu, a type of antelope, or Springbok venison, or perhaps a Cape Malay curry. At least one night you must have a braai of the local sausage, snoek (or maybe crayfish?) under the southern stars, with Table Mountain looming in the moonlight behind you. A truly unforgettable experience.
