Our fairy-tale chateau is situated on a peninsula in Lake Fuschl. It was built in 1450 as a hunting lodge and used as the summer residence of the archbishops of Salzburg. In the 1950s, the chateau became world-famous, as its romantic location on the banks of Lake Fuschl provided the ideal setting for the "Sissi" films with Romy Schneider. It's easy to see why our hotel was named one of the "Top 25 Resorts in Europe" by Condé Nast Traveler in 2006.
