Hotel Description
The Pestana Palace Hotel & National Monument is located in Lisbon, the charming, historical Portuguese capital with 800 years of various cultural influences that mingle with modern trends and lifestyles creating spectacular contrasts.
The Valle Flôr Palace, home to the luxurious Hotel & National Monument, was commissioned by the Marquis de Valle Flôr in the late 19th century. The luscious gardens that surround it include 331 tropical species – many over 100 years old - a scenic lake and a superb pavilion surrounded by secretive intertwined paths, the perfect spot for lovers’ encounters.
The Marquis spent a lot of time in Paris, where he owned another palace, and was inspired by its style and decorative arts that he reproduced in his new palace in Lisbon, bringing in the best artisans and artists to build this masterpiece. Frescoed ceilings, delicate hand-painted tiles, marvelous marbles, precious woods, majestic mirrors, beautiful paintings and many antiques are some of the valuable pieces of art that can be found all over the Palace. Classified as a National Monument, and a Member of The Leading Hotels of the World, it is an undisputed icon of excellence.
Curiosities:
Many internationally acclaimed musical and cinema celebrities, royalty and
politicians have stayed here.
The hotel has four concierges Clefs d’Or, considered Dream Makers by the press; they even have an exclusive newsletter “Lisbon Confidentialâ€.
Passed guests have included Bill Clinton, the Spanish Princes Filipe and Letizia,
Madonna, Prince and Real Madrid.
Close to Mosteiro dos Jerónimos and Torre de Belém - UNESCO Patrimony Monuments.
