Luxury Hotel Accommodation
Until 1989 this magical building had privately concealed its lovely gardens and charming rooms from the outside world. When Joy and Martin Cummings purchased Amberley Castle it was to fulfil their dream of transforming a historic castle into a fine country hotel. Their aim is to preserve the priceless air of peace and tranquility which envelopes Amberley Castle whilst restoring the lands and buildings to their former glory.
The Interior Each of the bedrooms have been individually designed by Joy to compliment the architecture of each room. The Queens Room and Great Room offer sumptuous surroundings whilst reflecting an era gone by. Whilst the three individual lounges are perfect for relaxing in and sampling more of the castles superb hospitality.
The ExteriorStunning Treehouse - In September 2004, the eagerly awaited thatched roof treehouse opened to guests. Named as Mistletoe Lodge, this stunning building nestled amongst and upon the beautiful sycamore trees by the Castle's main entrance is an architectural wonder. Reached by a rope bridge this luxury hide-out offers fantastic views of the grounds and lakes
Bishopric Suites Conversion - Two 17th century stone buildings within the dry moat have been converted to form The Bishopric, five suites all with private lounges and en suite Jacuzzi bathrooms. Each has been named after the most influential Bishops, who have resided at Amberley in the past.
Impressive driveway -The formation of the impressive gravel driveway between the two lakes have been Martin's creation. His work has transformed the grounds, making the entrance to Amberley Castle a stunning experience and the gardens a pleasure to explore in all seasons. Venture beyond the west walls and you'll come across a delightful water garden featuring a rill and tranquil pools.
18-hole professional putting course - opened in 2002 by Sir Henry Cooper, the course has proven to be highly popular and more than a little challenging. The trees, shrubs and herbaceous planting, which like the waterfall and ponds are a feature of the course, have created a haven for wildlife and visitors alike.
