Hotel Description
Established in 1882, the Fowey Hotel is a haven of tranquillity resting on the bank of the Fowey River Estuary looking out to sea. This grand lady, a tribute to great Victorian architecture, majestically watches over the lazy yachts and quaint fishing boats as they creep in and out of the mouth of the Fowey river.
The Fowey Hotel is a mere 20 minute drive from the spectacular Eden Project, hailed as a "living theatre of plants and people". This unique attraction illustrates perfectly that a whole new world can be grown from the seed of imagination.
It is the perfect base from which to visit not only Eden but also the Lost Gardens of Heligan, the Wheal-Martyn China Clay museum, the historic port of Charlestown and many of Cornwall's best attractions.
Fowey is particularly famous for its August Regatta, the highlight of which is a visit by the esteemed Red Arrows (the best viewing spot is from The Fowey) and in May, for the Daphne DuMaurier Literary Festival.
