Hotel Description
The Metropole is an imposing Victorian building perched majestically on the crest of a gentle hill, overlooking the popular Cornish village of Padstow. In addition to being one of the county's prettiest fishing villages, Padstow is best-known for its seafood, which features, of course, on the hotel's AA Rosetted menu. The hotel is set in its own pretty landscaped gardens and is a quick stroll from the centre of the town.

The village harbour is a working one and it's always a pleasure to watch the fishing boats return home to unload their catch, much of which is available in the village. A picnic lunch purchased in Padstow can be a veritable feast!
Luxury Hotel Accommodation
The hotel's Premier and Select bedrooms, some with 4-poster beds, are all comfortably furnished and equipped with hospitality tray, remote control colour TV, radio, hairdryer and direct dial telephone. Wifi will also be available in the near future. The majority of the rooms offer wonderful views out over the harbour and Camel estuary and some of the Premier rooms have their own terraces leading to the hotel's landscaped gardens.

The hotel has 2 Lounge areas with comfortable seating that are perfect for relaxing with coffee after dinner, enjoying an Afternoon Cornish Cream Tea or as a daytime retreat (refuge) to catch up with post card writing and reading. Fires burn cheerily in winter as Padstow is very much a year round place to visit - just as enchanting in winter as it is in the summer.

The restaurant offers wonderful views and delicious menus that change regularly and take full advantage of the wonderful fresh produce Cornwall is reknowned for. The hotel also has a Terrace Bar that offers a good selection of lighter dishes as well as an outdoor Terrace where food and refreshments can be enjoyed.
Facilities
The hotel offers 2 choices for dining - its more formal restaurant and the casual Terrace Bar. There is a small bar as well as 2 comfortable lounge areas. An outdoor swimming pool is open during the summer months of July and August. The hotel has parking facilities.
Location
Padstow is a bustling town full of eclectic shops and galleries to browse around and there is always plenty of activity around the harbour. The town is also centrally placed for visiting many of Cornwall's key attractions including the Eden Project, National Trust properties of Llanhydrock House, Pencarrow House and the privately owned Prideaux Place. The excellent St Enedoc golf course is a short drive away and wine afficionados will enjoy visiting the Camel Valley Vineyard, which produces international gold award winning Brut. For the more active, the Camel Trail with its cycle path (or walking if you prefer) along the Camel Estuary to the market town of Wadebridge is a lovely trip and the area is quite known for its birdlife. A small foot ferry takes you across the water from Padstow to the salubrious little resort of Rock.
